About Me

I’m Mahdi Mirghasemi — a storyteller shaped by silence, sharpened by struggle, and softened by empathy.

I live where stories begin — in overlooked corners, broken sidewalks, unanswered questions.
For me, creation isn’t a job. It’s how I exist.

I started with words.

At 18, I wrote my first book. Today, I have three published titles:

  1. Empty Alleys of Gunpowder Scent
  2. When He Lights the Cigarette from the Wrong End
  3. The Bajgah

These books were not just stories — they were wounds, memories, metaphors.

Then came the lens. I became a filmmaker, a video editor, a visual essayist.

Over six years, I’ve worked as a full-time content creator for various brands, especially with Rhino Iran, where I crafted visual, textual, and conceptual narratives.

I’ve created dozens of short films, hundreds of video ads, poetic reels, brand stories, and social campaigns — using both original footage and free public media — merging them into something personal, sharp, and emotional.

My art found its way to the Students Competitions in Iran, where I won second place in short movies.

I also completed a certified international course under Soroush Sehat, a leading figure in Iranian screenwriting and direction.

In recent years, I’ve expanded into international collaboration. I currently work with Vanessa, an American activist and mother, on a 12-part protest video series about pain, racism, and systemic discrimination in healthcare — including a spotlight on sickle cell disease, which claimed her son’s life.

I’ve also worked as the media director for the KGSE Expo, handling everything from videography and photography to logo design and brand-booth coordination.

Technically, I’m fluent in Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, and Photoshop — and currently diving deep into After Effects and Blender with certified international training.

But above all, I believe in this: Art isn’t a tool. It’s a bridge. Between cultures. Between wounds.
Between us.
